The Mocktail Mix Vol.2: An alcohol-free G&T (you won’t even notice the difference)

Written by Gabrielle Bottone

Welcome to part two of our alcohol-free mini-series, The Mocktail Mix, where we’ll be continuing our celebration of alcohol-free drinking and sharing our new favourite summer tipple to leave your guests impressed: A Sea Arch & Tonic.

The growing trend of ‘sober curiosity’ empowers individuals to reconsider their relationship with drink, their wellbeing and mental health, as championed by the likes of Catherine Gray and Ruby Warrington. If like us, you’re interested in learning more about the sober curious movement or just want to change your relationship with alcohol, Club Soda UK is also a great place to find inspiration to drink more mindfully.

To truly appreciate a drink's flavours (and perhaps avoid feeling a little delicate in the morning) we're sharing one of our most-popular and easy-to-make tipples that will impress any time of the year: a Sea Arch and tonic – an alcohol-free twist on a classic G&T.

The Story of Sea Arch

Bursting with seaside botanicals and as uplifting as a walk on the beach, Sea Arch is a delicious and refreshing non-alcoholic gin alternative made on the Devonshire coast. It’s a firm bar favourite at both Bedruthan and Scarlet.

Named after an iconic coastal rock formation, where the waves have washed away some of the cliff to create a natural stone arch in the ocean, Sea Arch extract the individual flavours from each of the botanicals as the alcohol is gently removed. They say it really is more beautiful without.

“At the first sip, aromatic juniper and bitter grapefruit give a clean, crisp taste. Then comes the sweetness and spice of blood orange and coriander. Our distinctively fresh coastal notes and Devon character are supplied by the wild seaside herbs of sugar kelp and samphire. Cardamon ensures a balanced, warm finish.”

How to make a simple Sea Arch & Tonic

1. Simply pour a measure of Coastal Juniper over ice into your glass of choice

2. Top up with a refreshing and sparkling mixer (we recommend a crisp, sustainable tonic from Navas Drinks)

3. Garnish with a full fruit salad to make it even healthier - our go to is a combination of grapefruit slices, mint, orange and lime, but anything vibrant and fruity will complement the all-natural botanicals.

4. Sit back and enjoy every last sip

It’s all the fun of a ‘proper’ drink, without the hangover, sugar or calories… we’ll drink to that!
