Our Bramble Sour cocktail is a great way to make use of autumnal foraged fruits. Transforming a classic British favourite into a berry-licious boozy delight to wow friends and family.
Believed to have originated in London, the bramble quickly became one of Britain's most loved cocktails. Our team at Bedruthan looked to enhance the classic with a contemporary twist, making use of seasonal flavours and autumnal fruits. The original bramble combines dry gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup, crème de mûre with ice. The addition of a fluffy egg-white Ombre provides a velvety transformation and softly coats the lips.
Our Bramble Sour embodies a silkiness not found in other drinks. Combining sweet with sour, this cocktail delightfully indulges the senses. We thought we'd share this autumn twist to warm the soul, it's quickly becoming a firm favourite here with our team, we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Ingredients for one
- A generous measure of blackberry gin (however much you like... the occasion dictates)
- A dash of Crème De Cassis
- The whites of an egg
- A small measure of blackberry jam (made from foraged fruits or purchased from a local store)
- A squeeze of a lime
- A small handful of ice
Time To Mix
Step one. Combine the Blackberry gin, Crème De Cassis, one egg white, a spoon of blackberry jam (to taste) with a splash of lime in a shaker, and shake to combine the ingredients.
Step two. Add the ice and shake again to create pink cloud foam.
Step three. Pour the contents of the shaker into a frozen champagne saucer, watch the pink cloud-like ombre form.
