Bedruthan has an interesting history. The hotel opened in 1960 as an independent family hotel owned and run by Peter and Mary Whittington.

It quickly became a popular destination as a family resort hotel and set a pattern for others to follow. Bedruthan's childcare services, with their emphasis on fresh local produce and sustainable living, were innovative and groundbreaking at this time.
Following their parents' passion for hospitality and sustainability, their daughters (Emma, Debbie and Rebecca) now continue to run Bedruthan with their large team of hard-working staff.
In 2003 it was decided that the hotel would open all year round and aim for 4 star recognition. In 2005 the hotel was awarded 4 star status from the AA with a rosette dining award. This has required a continuous commitment to high standards including refurbishments and staff training across the years.
Today, Bedruthan is not only a multi award winner, an Investor in People and a Beacon in the South West, but is an inspirational destination where you can holiday with a conscience. You can enjoy a place to spend time together, build and strengthen relationships and give the whole family a holiday to remember.
