You can’t holiday in Cornwall without having a dip in the Atlantic Ocean, and what better way to experience Cornwall’s beach lifestyle than to have a surfing lesson at Bedruthan. Surfing is exciting, exhilarating and of course lots of fun for all ages, so come and catch some waves. Have a surf lesson, hire a board or bring your own equipment.
Who will teach me?
The Surf Club Cornwall is based within the grounds of the Bedruthan Hotel, Nick owns and runs this business year-round offering quality and professional surf lessons at Mawgan Porth beach along with his team of instructors.
The minimum age for surf lessons is 6 years old and there is no maximum! Whether you want an easy afternoon of fun in a group or a one-on-one intensive surf lesson, Nick is on hand to tailor your session, making sure you get the most out of your time in the water.
How long is a session and what will I do?
Our surf lessons take place at Mawgan Porth beach, directly in front of the hotel and are generally two-hours long, if we venture to another beach this may take more time.
Surf lesson times are flexible and to make the most of the conditions we are typically able to surf through the tides, however we do suggest that good lesson times are 10am, 12.30pm or 3.30pm.
In beginner surf lessons you learn how to surf safely and you should be able to stand on the board by the end. Improver or intermediate level surfing lessons take individual ability into consideration and then are tailored to requirements.
How much is it?
At Bedruthan, surf lessons are either private or small mixed groups although we specialise in taking your group or family together.
- 1:1 surf lesson = £75
- 2:1 surf lesson = £80
- Group surf lesson = £30 per person
- Private family surf lesson = £30 per person based on 3 or more sharing
Group Surf Lessons at Mawgan Porth:
We offer small group lessons for those that want to learn the basics without all the attention on them all the time, this means our instructor works around a group of around eight people helping them where they need it and allowing you time to practice without any pressure.
