Over 50 stalls to browse including homewares, decor, contemporary crafts, plants, gardenalia, fashion, accessories, beauty and food and drink. Spring Fair 2020

During the fair, there will be no parking available at the hotel. We recommend parking in Mawgan Porth beach car park and taking the free Newquay Lions shuttle bus that will go between the car park and the hotel during the fair.

There is a £1 entry charge for adults payable on the door and kids go free! This door charge covers a charitable donation to the Mawgan Porth Village Hall and the Newquay Lions.

Annie Morris is the designer maker behind the embroidered gift and homewares label. The Ink & Print Studio – Pre Bookable Workshops

Head to the Ink & Print Studio at the Spring Fair to take part in a workshop. With lino printing, screen printing and modern calligraphy workshops available it’s a chance to spend some time getting creative and learning a new skill.

PRE-BOOKING IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AS SPACES ARE LIMITED!

Modern Calligraphy Taster Workshop

Sunday 24th of March

10:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm 

£10 a head including all workshop materials

Join Lyndsey of Wild Sea Calligraphy for an introductory taster session in Modern Calligraphy. Lyndsey will guide you through using your calligraphy pen to create simple and elegant calligraphy shapes so you can work towards mastering the modern calligraphy alphabet. These skills can be used to create words, phrases and quotes in a beautiful modern calligraphy style.

Participants will also be able to purchase their own modern calligraphy kit of pen, nib, ink and guide sheets to take home with them at a reduced price of £20.

This taster session is suitable for complete beginners with a minimum age of 10 and it will take approx 30 minutes. Workshops will be taking place at: 10:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm and Lyndsey will be doing a free modern calligraphy demonstration of the art of calligraphy and its uses at 11:30am.

This workshop is £10 a head, including all workshop materials and free fair entry for pre-booked workshop participants.

Botanical Paper Screen Printing Workshop

Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th of March

Join Dena of Kiwi Print Studio to have a go at screen printing. You will choose one of their in-house botanical inspired designs and be guided through the screen printing process. Using their speciality inks and beautiful cartridge paper you will create a set of 3 prints, ready to take home and frame or give as a beautiful gift.

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners with a minimum age of 12 and is approx 30 minutes long. Kids under 16 need to be accompanied by an adult. Workshops will be taking place at: 10:30am, 11:30am (Sunday only), 12:30pm (Saturday only) 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm and Dena will also be holding a free screen printing demonstration of how to screen print a set of cards at 11:30am on Saturday and 12:30pm on Sunday in the Demo Space.

Lino Block Tea Towel Printing Workshop

Join Ella of Kiwi Print Studio to try out repeat block lino printing. Kiwi have designed and created some beautiful botanical inspired hand carved lino blocks ready for you to ink up with their speciality mixed textile inks and print a repeat across your tea towel, ready to take home and brighten up your kitchen.

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners with a minimum age of 12 and is about 30 minutes long. Kids under 16 need to be accompanied by an adult. Workshops will be taking place at: 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm. The Make & Take Lounge – Make Sessions

Drop in to the Make & Take Lounge at the Spring Fair to take part in one of our making sessions. With paper flower art, macramé plant and wall hangings – it’s the perfect opportunity to spend some time creating something you can take home with you.

Paper Anemone Make

Saturday the 23rd and Sunday the 24th March

Join Pam from The Nature of Paper in this making session to be guided through the skills needed to make a paper flower and create your own gorgeous paper anemone. Your paper anemone will make a gorgeous lasting gift for you or a friend and you can use your new skills to go on and create a full bouquet of anemones at home. Paper flower making kits will also be available to buy.

There is no need to book, just drop in between 10am and 4pm during the Spring Fair to get involved. Please note that the last drop in is 3pm and Pam will not running a making session at 12:30pm on the 23rd as she will be running a free paper flower making demonstration in the Demo Space.

Makes will last for approx 45 minutes and are suitable for complete beginners age 8 and up. Kids need to be accompanied by an adult.

This make session is £5pp on the day including all materials.

Flower Crown Make

Saturday the 23rd of March

Join Kerry of Rare Creation Flowers in this making session to create a gorgeous flower crown using natural materials, fresh blooms and dried foliage. This beautiful flower crown can be refreshed with flowers to make it a lasting treasure. Flowers, blooms, bulbs and willow wall art will also be available to buy.

There is no need to book, just drop in on the 23rd of March between 10am-4pm to get involved. Please note that the last drop in is 3pm.

Makes will last for about 45 minutes and are suitable for complete beginners age 8 and up. Kids need to be accompanied by an adult.

Macramé Plant or Wall Hanging Make

Join Curious Tinker Cathy from Treehouse Newquay in this making session to be guided through the basic decorative knots of macramé so you can create your own gorgeous mini macramé plant holder or wall hanging.

Makes will last for up to an hour and are suitable for complete beginners age 8 and up. Kids need to be accompanied by an adult.

Dena will be demonstrating on card blanks to show you how you can create your own bespoke greeting cards at home. Dena will take you through the screen printing process and show you how can do this at home using the traditional method of cut stencil screen printing. If you would like to get hands-on and learn how to screen or lino print for yourself why not book onto one of Kiwi Prints workshops taking place in the Ink and Print Studio – pre-booking is advised.

Paper Flower Demonstration – Saturday 23rd of March – 12:30pm

Pam from The Nature of Paper will share her paper flower making skills and show you some of the techniques involved in creating a range of paper blooms. A gorgeous art that means you can have flowers that are beautiful and ever lasting. Modern Calligraphy Demonstration – Sunday 24th of March – 11:30am

Lyndsey of Wild Sea Calligraphy will be demonstrating some modern calligraphy. This competition runs from 10am on 23rd March 2019 until 4pm on 24th March 2019 for those attending our Spring Fair 2019 and the winner will be contacted on 25th March 2019. The winner will receive prizes from the following: Alrightmybird, Anon Design Studio, Badger & Birch, Bearded Brewery, Blossom Clothing Cornwall, Bongomio, Call of the Ocean, Clara Kids, The Cornish Artisan, Cornish Country Cordials, Deer & Shine, fala studio, Frog and Florets, Humble Cottage, Identity Papers, Jago Illustration, Jenny Aves, Lamorna Gore Ceramics, Lazique Laser Creations, Lily Faith, Moksa, Pineapple Fibre Art, Riverford Home Delivery, Sea Pink Studio, Seawitch Candles, Shore Fired Pottery and Wading Bird. The prizes must be collected from Bedruthan Hotel and Spa. Travel costs are not included in the prize, the winners will need to make their own travel arrangements. There is no cash alternative available for the prize as a whole or any of the elements included. Entrants must be 18 or over to enter, and must not be an employee of the Bedruthan Hotel and Spa or the Scarlet Hotel. Anything not detailed in these terms is chargeable. By providing personally identifiable information when entering this free prize draw you agree to be contacted by Red Hotels specifically about this competition. If you wish you can sign up for newsletters from Bedruthan but this is optional and not a condition of entry. No one will rent, sell or lease this personally identifiable information to other companies or individuals. The winner will be notified by email on the announcement date.
