Twixmas is the name fondly given to the quiet days between Christmas and New Year (26th–30th December). The word comes from ‘betwixt’, meaning ‘between’; that familiar liminal time when no one’s quite sure what day it is, or whether it’s time for lunch or another mince pie.
More and more people are using these in-between days to take a short break. An excuse for a couple of nights away to rest, reset, and simply breathe before the celebrations begin again.
