Fowey Festival of Words and Music
6th May at 10:00 am - 13th May at 4:00 pm
Fowey is one of our favourite places: set in Fowey estuary with panoramic views of the river, the town and harbour is full of quaint cafes, side streets and boutique shops to explore. There are a number of beautiful walks to take where you’ll find beaches, cliff tops and dark woods, and there is no better time to visit than during the Festival of Words and Music.
The Festival is inspired by the famed author Daphne du Maurier, who spent a large part of her life in and around Fowey, taking inspiration from the Cornish culture and landscape. The Festival continues to include a strand of du Maurier themed events from walks showcasing the inspiration behind the author’s stories to book readings and debates. But the festival has also included numerous renowned writers, performers and entertainers throughout its history.
Throughout the week long festival there are all sorts of events to dip in and out of: literary interviews, presentations, theatre, music and comedy performances, workshops, exhibitions and local walks.
