Enamelling for jewellery workshop
2 July, 2016at 11:00 am - 5:00 pm£60
Spend a relaxing and creative day by the sea, learning how to enamel and make your own enamelled eco-silver pendants, ring and handmade chain.
Professional jewellery-maker Sarah Drew will teach you all the techniques you will need to make your own unique, colourful enamelled jewellery. You start off in the morning preparing pieces to enamel, moving on to trying out enamelling on copper, then on your eco-silver pieces. You should be able to complete at least three pieces — and possibly more — on the day so you can wear them home at the end.
This workshop takes place in our sunny, sea view craft room — a lovely setting in which you can chat as you work, catch up with old friends perhaps, if you decide to come in a group, or meet some new ones.
This is a level 2 workshop so it is preferable if you’ve had some experience soldering and making silver jewellery before.
Techniques covered in this workshop include:
Texturing the silver
Finishing, filing and polishing,
Enamelling on copper and silver
Using the kiln
How to carry on making silver jewellery after the workshop.
Level: The course is suitable for adults with some soldering and jewellery-making experience.
