As Roo from Roo’s Beach prepares for our 2018 Fashion Feast, she gives us a sneak peak on the shades, textures and silhouettes that encapsulates the Spring Summer 18 collection…
As we busily start preparations for our third annual fashion show I thought it would be good to outline what’s in store for SS18 – just so you’re all prepared and can buy the correct shade of lipstick!
The Pantone colour of the 2018 is ‘Ultra Violet’, “ PANTONE 18-3838 Ultra Violet communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future”, here at Roo’s Beach we’re thinking bright purple ‘Iris’ through to baby lilac all partnered with washed out denim. Now that’s got to get you excited on such a grey day?
There’s plenty of pink around too. Surround yourself with delicate shades of pale pink, it’s softness and femininity make it so easy to wear. You need to find the right shade of course, steer away from anything too blue, too bright or too blancmange. Say no to slogans and bold pink prints and just wear it in it’s natural, paired down, soft and warming way.
A delicious cuddly pink jumper worn with pale denim and a simple grey t-shirt underneath, an oversized, unstructured American Vintage Vacaville – a one size cardigan to give you a pale, soft, pink hug on the coldest, dreariest pre-Spring day. Let yourself remember how good it is and revisit this colour, feel feminine and pretty it’ll put a smile on your face.
The decade of the season is the 90s. Why not embrace it and try a new denim silhouette, forget about skinnies, we’ve all worn them for years? We dabbled with the flare and I’ll put money on the bootleg coming back before we’re much older. However those brilliant experts at Levi’s have bought us the ‘Baggy’ for SS18, it’s just perfect, high wasted (so keeps everything tucked in and stream lined), slightly tapered to the ankle, amazingly flattering over the bottom and to top it all off there’s a hint of acid wash blue – take me back NOW!
Come along on 16th March to see the full edit brought to life at our Fashion Show, if you can’t make it stay tuned to the blog and we’ll bring you all the highlights.
Happy outfit planning!
