Q&A with our Restaurant and Bar Team

By February 6, 2019Food & Drink

Finding a restaurant that is suitable for you can be tricky, especially if you aren’t sure what the facilities are like or if you have dietary requirements or allergies. So we took some of your frequently asked questions and created this blog post to answer them for you:

Does your restaurant have a variety of children’s meals?

Yes, you can view our Wild Cafe‘s sample children’s menu here, which includes meals like mac and cheese, fish and chips, toasties and burgers. We are also happy to arrange dishes using our fresh daily produce upon request if your child would prefer something different.

Do you cater for allergies?

Yes absolutely, our chefs are more than happy to cater for any dietary requirements. We can amend most of our dishes to suit your needs. One of the favourites is our gluten-free fish and chips! We make our own gluten, dairy and nut free muesli, we have seven types of alternative milk and our vegan chocolate cake is simply delicious. Just let us know when you are booking about your allergies or dietary requirements.

Do you have a good variety of gluten-free meals if we were to stay for the whole weekend?

Yes, as mentioned above our chefs can offer a variety of gluten-free meals options to keep hunger at bay whilst you are staying with us.

Do you accept dogs?

Yes, four-legged legged friends are very welcome at Bedruthan. We allow dogs in the Wild Café, all we ask is that you let us know at the time of booking so that we can allocate a table where your dog is calm and relaxed and where we aren’t going to trip over their wagging tail. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in The Herring restaurant. Not a fan of dogs? Just let us know when booking and we can place you on a table away from any dogs that will be in the restaurant during your visit.

Can non-residents come for breakfast?

Yes, for £12.50 you can help yourself to our amazing buffet breakfast, which includes, homemade jams and cereals, homemade bread and sweet muffins. Locally sourced apple juice and other delicious treats, all washed down with a pot of tea or mug of coffee.

Do you do a travel cup discount at all?

We do! If you buy an rCUP from us in our Create shop you will receive your first hot drink free. Also if you use any reusable cup when buying a takeaway hot drink you will receive a 10% discount. So feel free to pop by after your beach or coastal walk for a hot beverage of your choice.

Do you have an afternoon tea package?

We don’t have a specific afternoon tea package, but we do offer a variety of light snacks, sandwiches, cakes and hot drinks in our lounges, bar and on the bar terrace. So you are more than welcome to create your own from the delicious snacks that we already offer.

What time do you serve breakfast, lunch and dinner?

Our Wild Cafe is open to hotel residents and day visitors from 7:30am to 2:30pm and our Herring restaurant is open to hotel residents and day visitors from 6pm and 9:30pm for dinner. The Wild Cafe serves the Cracking Cornish Breakfast 7:30am to 10am, lunch from 12pm to 2:30pm and dinner 4:30pm to 9:30pm. Outside of these times, we serve light snacks, sandwiches and cakes in our lounges, bar and on the bar terrace.

What kind of drinks do you serve in the bar?

We serve a variety of beers, lagers, cocktails and gins. From traditional drinks to our own drinks with Bedruthan twist, there’s something to tingle everyone’s taste buds. You can enjoy our seasonal drinks in our bar or out on the bar terrace. You can view our current winter cocktail menu here.
