Five of the most egg-citing Easter hunts in Cornwall

By March 21, 2019Families

Easter egg hunts are such a wonderful way for the children to head out into the great outdoors, without the need for the slightest bit of persuasion! There’s nothing quite like the fun and excitement of searching high and low for the treasured chocolate eggs, be it within beautiful gardens, along nature trails or amongst a wildlife sanctuary. It’s also a brilliant group activity to be shared with either friends or the wider family – although sharing the eggs might not be so easy! If you’re wondering where to set your sights in Cornwall during the Easter holidays, take a look at a few of our favourites taking place across the region….

Cadbury Egg Hunt, Trelissick Gardens
Saturday 6th to Monday 22nd April
Trelissick is once again taking part in the Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt this year. The garden will be full of clues to find and puzzles to solve, bringing you closer to the chocolate prize. Discover how the garden grows and how it’s looked after by both the gardeners and the creatures who call it home. There’s fun around every corner and new things to learn and experience. Make sure the children put their explorer’s hats on as they venture into the garden and get closer to the beauty of nature.

Easter Trail Extraordinaire, St Michael’s Mount Village and Harbour
Sunday 7th to Monday 22nd April
Curiouser and curiouser – follow the Easter trail around the harbour and village, and learn about the people who have visited, and the people that have called the Mount home, as you seek the answers to receive a reward. Today, the village plays home to a small community with 30 islanders living and working there, but stroll along the harbour front and you can still see many of the buildings that shaped the village’s past – from the blacksmith’s forge that is now home to the Courtyard Shop to the island laundry that now houses the island café.

The Great Eden Egg Hunt, Eden Project
Saturday 6th to Thursday 25th April
Keep your eyes peeled for precious patterned eggs, hidden around Eden – which you can ‘eggschange’ for a special prize. They’ve also got lots of new indoor and outdoor games and activities for the whole family to try out at their farm-themed Easter event. Join the Eden Farmers to help round up their animals, and learn what makes crops grow. Play a-mooo-sing games and eggciting activities. Collect stamps to fill up your card and eggschange them for cracking prizes!

Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt, Glendurgan Garden
Saturday 6th to Monday 22nd April
As spring progresses, Glendurgan celebrates Easter with a nature-themed Cadbury egg hunt suitable for all ages. You can join in the fun over the Easter holidays and there’s a Cadbury chocolate treat for everyone who takes part. The valley garden is full of beautiful spring colour – a wonderful setting for the whole family to enjoy.

Easter Egg Challenge, Paradise Park Wildlife Sanctuary
Saturday 6th to Monday 22nd April
Take the Golden Egg Challenge this Easter at Paradise Park and you might even spot some dinosaur eggs. Their magnificent Golden Eagle ‘Talis’ is joining the ‘Eagles of Paradise’ flying display and is the reason behind their Easter ‘Golden Egg Challenge’. This celebrates all things golden and challenges you to seek out the golden egg before claiming your very own mini chocolate golden egg rewards. Be sure to stay for the Free Flying Bird Show which will  ‘give you the chance to get up close and see stunning eagles, owls, cockatoos and macaws to name a few.

We will of course be holding our own eggstravaganza across the Easter holidays, including an Easter Treasure Hunt, meet and greet with Bedster Bunny, cupcake decorating, wax and dye egg decorating and more – so don’t miss out!
