Whether you’re looking for a beginner’s lesson for your four-year-old, a peaceful plod down a country lane for you and the kids, or a lone gallop along a long sandy beach – Newquay Riding Stables is the place to head.
Just a quick 15 minute drive from Bedruthan Hotel, the stables overlook picturesque Trenance Boating Lake and are just across the road from the River Gannel, which offers a lovely ride for beginners and more experienced riders alike.
I’ve been taking my children to Trenance Stables for a few years now, and have always found it a friendly, safe and fun stable.
They offer lessons for children from four years old and up starting from £8 per person for half an hour. Along with pony trekking, they also offer hack rides and long rides for more experienced riders, including beautiful scenic beach rides for a really unique experience.
If there is a group of you, they also offer discounts which are ideal for a children’s party or celebration.
If you find yourself at the boating lake but haven’t booked a ride, it’s worth asking if the children can have a sit on a horse and a little go up and down the lane – the stables sometimes offer this service in exchange for a small charitable donation.
To book or for more information see the Newquay Riding Stables website or contact them on 01637 872699.
